Multimodal Intelligent Robotics Lab – Foshan Research Base

Our latest team photo at the Foshan Research Base of the Multimodal Intelligent Robotics Lab, August 2026. In addition to our research activities at the University of Aberdeen, the lab maintains a research base in Foshan, China, supporting research, student training, and collaboration in multimodal intelligent robotics, wearable sensing, embodied intelligence, and human–robot interaction.

Welcoming Colleagues from the University of Aberdeen to Our Laboratory

It was a great pleasure to welcome colleagues from the University of Aberdeen to visit our laboratory. During the visit, we introduced our research facilities and ongoing projects and exchanged ideas on future research and collaboration in intelligent robotics, wearable technologies, embodied intelligence, and artificial intelligence.

Welcoming Visitors from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia to the Multimodal Intelligent Robotics Lab

It was a great pleasure to welcome Dr Xiao Li, Dr Ahmad Fazlizan Abdullah, and Ubaidah Syafiq from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) to visit the Multimodal Intelligent Robotics Lab at the University of Aberdeen. During the visit, we introduced our ongoing research and laboratory facilities and discussed potential future collaborations in intelligent robotics, wearable technologies, and artificial intelligence.

Welcoming the South China Normal University Delegation to the Multimodal Intelligent Robotics Lab

It was a great pleasure to welcome a delegation from South China Normal University (SCNU) to visit the Multimodal Intelligent Robotics Lab led by Zhenhua at the University of Aberdeen (ABDN). During the visit, the delegation toured the laboratory and discussed ongoing and future research collaborations in multimodal intelligent robotics, wearable technologies, and artificial intelligence.

The University of Aberdeen and South China Normal University (SCNU) formally signed an agreement to establish the Joint Laboratory for Multimodal Intelligent Robotics, providing a framework for long-term collaboration in intelligent robotics, wearable technologies, research exchange, and joint student training.

Zhenhua was appointed as Director of the ABDN–SCNU Joint Laboratory for Multimodal Intelligent Robotics.

Zhenhua attended the graduation ceremony of the SCNU Aberdeen Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at South China Normal University (SCNU) as a faculty representative of the University of Aberdeen. It was a great pleasure to celebrate this important milestone with the graduating students and colleagues from both universities.
